This is a great advertisment for what real developers do. You shouldn’t just crank out the first idea that works. You should be doing something that is smarter and sensible.

I don’t have personal experience with people suffering psychoses but I would think that, if you have the werewithal to ask questions about the opposite beliefs, you’d be noticeably less likely to get suckered into scams and conspiracies.

I honestly think a big part of it is the hacky nature of the self-made dev. There’s an emphasis on getting it working instead of getting it right. Work fast, crash fast, and get it limping along faster.
