Long term computer programmer, making my own library. American based. Far left politically. Promotes use of paper ballots. Follows news about environmental collapse, political corruption in my country, human rights, science and tech.

I see some things I like; AI tab grouping is not what I would like to see their limited resources spent on.
16·11 days agoI was fruitful and multiplied, its hard to organize a large migration of people, some of whom want to stay.
I will travel, but am rather tied to this area, even if I do not see it changing for the better in my lifetime
I agree with mastodon, even though eventually Texas will enact similar legislation forcing me to use a vpn to read it
Only outrage, but no logical defense. Do not be so hard on yourself if you later regret such an outburst.
Many people must believe in this system, often for deep seated needs. But these “machines” have no reasonable defense.
If a population in a democracy cannot insist on public counting of ballots, and instead rely on private companies to tell them who won.
Then there is no hope for change until there is a complete replacement of the entire political class. And that can only happen in the future

3·15 days agoPutting a device on airplane mode removes the distractions. If I play a video game while the lecture is going on, well that is on me, or the lecture, or both.
She has a well earned reputation of sounding in private just like in the video . I’m sure the video is not her, but it was really accurate in tone; which is why it’s getting traction

Actually this cost a lot of time and money. Even today I have to take an extra step to see if master or main is use . Before it was standard.

Because the argument is stupid. Much like pointers not being a good term to use because it’s rude to point. Or man pages being sexist.
