Interesting how I just got done mentioning in another thread that they essentially just flip the truth on its head and start talking. Pretty much just the direct opposite of the truth all the time.

Normal people try to find what’s correct, with biases fucking it up.

Conservatives try to prove why they must be right, and attack everything that proves them wrong.

Of course he feels fear. He knows what he’s doing and how sensible people will be horrified by it. Why do you think he tries to act so tough?

The boards of directors firing CEOs for not being evil enough really need to feel the heat, too, long term. Profit is not an excuse to do evil shit.

Low isn’t required, but not being a giant pussy is, and, by extension, knowing the difference.

The basic problem is thinking that conquering somebody is natural, inevitable, or good.

Well, reddit has nothing at this point, so it’s better than the competition.

I think the way to beat amazon is to specialize in one tiny area. Carve them up into such small slices that they cant fight back.

So like, instead of trying to do just their books business, do just horror books. Horror that mixes with all genres, every possible crossover, but always horror books.

Having a genuine specialty is what can take amazon down, bit by bit. Something genuinely cool, something genuinely fun. Another big-ass store is nothing special.

This is what we call “dipshit energy”.

The fediverse is confusing and that’s bad. It should be less confusing, and there should be less people making comments like that one. Quit it.

We’ll get there sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.

Google has the ability to stand up to trump. To destroy him, frankly.

But they’d have to not be little bitches, so I guess they don’t.

So get them on there.

For me the way bigger issue is clunkiness. The fediverse needs a massive push for UI, usability, intuitiveness. Not having that will turn people away, but part of what will get it to happen is more people showing up and saying “stop making this otherwise objective improvement so janky that I second guess coming here in the first place.” Maybe a few will be inspired to help, if they have the skills.

To everybody working on the fediverse in any capacity: thank you. You are building a digital Noah’s Ark for the future.

The Fediverse needs UI work. The new world needs a new internet.

I’m thankful we have this glorified hobbyist project of a micro internet, because it’s awesome. It’s time for real layout work to make things more intuitive, instead of this “just solder it” open-source-in-the-bad-way energy that sometimes gets half-assedly splattered around.

For everybody who has and is working on the Fediverse, thank you.
