It is good, specially on mid size text. But it is not good enough. When text is long or too short, it gets lost and makes tons of context mistakes. It also tends to be unnatural for the target language preferring original language phrasing.

One of the big things about this announcement is that it isn’t addressed only to customers, it is aimed at developers. The store page even has sections to announce that development kits are available. They want the software and hardware developers onboard, that’s how they are going to push out competition.

Valve just kicked the teeth of all console makers with this announcement. If only they manage to ship and distribute globally they would single-handedly threat taking over the entire gaming industry (hardware side) in a single generation. Of course, it’s well to wait for reviews, hands on demonstrations and the reality that comes out of this. But I bet there’s more than one MS an Sony executive who were apprehensive of seeing this day arrive.
Also: the fact they doubled down on the Steam Machine name. It’s like a huge FU to all OEM manufacturers who laughed at them in 2017.
None of that comes activated by default. Sure, there are some dark patterns that trick people into activating bullshit. But anyone with half a brain and a minimum attention span not rotten yet by social media will click no on those prompts. Once disabled at the first startup, Samsung doesn’t bother you ever again. You can uninstall every single Samsung app and substitute with your favorite, no issue. This includes all Google apps, except play services because of Google.
As for ads and uninstallable bloat, it’s probably a carrier version. Those do get bloated and get ads. But otherwise, the international unlocked versions don’t show any ads at all. I’ve never seen an ad in my S25 phone and use nearly all Foss apps. The phone has never refused to uninstall anything. The effort to do that is pretty minimum, no tech knowledge required. Just learn to say no to software, it’s not rocket science. People got conditioned to saying yes to every prompt just to make it go away. This is how they get you. But it is not mandatory or out of your power to disable that stuff.
And for the UI, it’s a subjective matter of taste. I’ve never liked any of the alternative launchers either, they all suck in some minor way that breaks their gimmick. OneUI is fine and perfectly functional, it even has more customization and QoL features than stock launcher and other truly bullshit launchers like Xiaomi’s.
Not all Samsung phones are the same. Carrier versions are usually the one’s that come neutered and bloated. While international versions are unlocked and allow to uninstall anything. Including Google’s applications. I wished they wouldn’t be working on permanently locking the boot loader, that is their real sin.
That movie is carried hard by Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas. Part of their marketing was obscuring other actors participation like Dave bautista and Sean Young. Leto didn’t feature in most marketing material either. Some were a pleasant surprise, others were sort of a resigned acceptance. Wallace is also a weak performance from Leto, even though the character had more potential. Gary Oldman would’ve been a fine choice instead.

The channel hat always been disingenuous. It’s not the first video they have where they develop a well written essay that has conclusions that make no sense with the information presented. It’s the theater of research without any of the substance. The editors just do whatever they want, under the expectations that the writing team will support their preconceived notion.
They’re an entertainment channel, not a science communication channel. They have said some awful, totally not fact supported stuff in the past.
Uh, lots of really great painters have aphantasia. It’s very prominent in the population and 100% not a medical disability. Art is a skill. There’s people without arms that paint. Deaf people who make music. There’s blind people drawing. There’s this cool japanese girl without an arm that plays the violin. Are you going to win prices and sell work for millions of dollars, or feature at the MOMA, or play at the Superbowl half time show? Or achieve any of the inane arbitrary goalpost that people like to set for calling stuff real art. Most assuredly you won’t. Because less than 0.1% of all the people in the planet will achieve any of that. But every single child has and will be born an artist. Every child draws, sings, dances and plays spontaneously. All that is art.
If you think only people born artists can make art, congratulations, you were born an artists, every human is, go do your art. If you think only specific people with extraordinary characteristics get to make art. I’m sorry you were hurt so bad to develop such bleak worldview and poor self image.
If you do art, you’ll get good at art. If you don’t do art and instead make the slop machine manufacture expensive Styrofoam for you to chew on, then you’ll never get good at art. Regardless of your biological makeup. Being shit at doing something is the first and mandatory step for becoming good at doing something. Do it poorly until you can do it decently, then do it some more. Art is the experience of doing art. Even bad art is superior to mass consumption generated pixels.
Running navidrome is extremely easy and non-invasive. it takes close to no config and is very minimal. It never touches or changes your files either. It is worth to give it a try to see if Chora is right for you.
There’s a tiny project called Chora, that works exactly like Symphonium. However it is for navidrome/substreamer. It claims that its minimum required version is Android 6. Is what I use as an Android TV client, even though it is for phone/tablet.
There are both open source and commercial apps that do PTT over internet. It turns phones into radio, it even has the capability to have central radio operation rooms for companies and such. It’s all automated.

Or how we operationalize and interpret information from studies. You might think you’re measuring something according to a narrow definition and operationalization of the measurement. But that doesn’t guarantee that that’s what you are actually getting. It’s more an epistemological and philosophical issue. What is “believable human”? And how do you measure it? I deep dived into AI research when the bubble first started with chatgpt 3.5. It turns out, most AI researchers are philosophers. Because thus far, there was very little tech wise elements to discuss. Neural networks and machine learning were very basic and a lot of proposals were theoretical. Generative AI as LLMs and image generators were philosophical proposals before real technological prototypes were built. A lot of it comes from epistemology analysis mixed in with neuroscience and devops. It’s a relatively new trend that the wallstreet techbros have inserted themselves and dominated the space.
It’s obvious how you haven’t even touched a Samsung phone in the past 10 years and are just repeating misinformation. Carrier phones with preinstalled bloatware is a thing, but Samsung mostly did it in the heyday if Facebook and Twitter integration with data plans in the US circa 2015. Newer phones and international versions have never had preinstalled social media apps, let alone installed at system level. This was a widespread issue at the time with all phones, from Motorola to ASUS, and yes, even Apple. Not a Samsung exclusive issue.
Currently, even Samsung applications can be uninstalled. There’s ads, on the Galaxy store, where you are supposed to have ads. They are no more intrusive than looking at recommended apps on the Play store or the AppStore.
There’s one bit of dark pattern left, and it is after major upgrades, Samsung will show a notification suggesting to install recommended apps. But you can touch “don’t show this again” and it goes away forever. I’ve never seen an ad on my s24 phone ever.
So, my suggestion is to not blindly trust everything you hear on the internet. No matter how geeky and knowledgeable the people may seem. Just find variety and diversity of POVs to form a more complex and nuanced opinion, even seek personal experience. Not just stay with a single person’s biased opinion. And definitely don’t parrot loudly something that you have no first hand experience with.
They haven’t. Part of the reason the bubble is so bad is that NVIDIA has been giving credit incentives to openai and other llm companies. Essentially giving them money so they use it to buy NVIDIA chips, so they can claim higher sales numbers. But there’s no revenue. The AI bubble is 4 or 5 companies shuffling money to each other to inflate numbers so investors inject more money.
The only ones making bank are CEOs when they take their bonuses and cash outs. The companies themselves are bleeding. OpenAI needs something like $700 billion dollars more to survive until 2030. LLMs simply don’t make any money. Any savings from ai use has been from layoffs. It will all eventually crash out when it is obvious that AI use ultimately hurts revenue, no matter how much it saves in production.
