There’s other phones with user replaceable batteries. I looked it up a month or so ago. They’re not as ethical as fairphone, but still better than my drawer of working phones with dead batteries.

It’s not enshittification, but there’s a bunch of crappy rss bots on lemmy reposting low quality content pulled from various feeds. I feel like they’ve been abandoned and left to run creating internet litter around this site. I’ve started blocking them because I’m not against bots as a concept, but poorly written or with bad sources they can get pretty tiring. One of the things I appreciate about diggs $5 account fee is that it’d hopefully limit the amount of spam on the site.
I liked Green Lantern.
Great movie.
I’m not defending advertising, but the business doesn’t care about your wellbeing, they care about your money. The bigger the business the less they care.
Absolutely. I kinda feel if they’re spending money on advertising, that’s money they’re not spending on the product/customer. If I see a product that’s being marketed everywhere, the customer is paying for that.
I fully agree that paid corporate advertising should be toned down, and that advertising has been given too much public space to put whatever it’s message out. But the question was about banning ALL advertising.
How does any small business or sole trader ever get anywhere without marketing their wares or service? I appreciate the thought but it’s foolish to say abolish it.
So what, they made their money. It was a scam and always on a time limit.
minimal pay, minimal effort. I don’t blame the staff.
I considered seeing Mickey 17 at the cinema near my house. Newer build but nothing fancy. $28aud for a single adult. There seemed to be some cinema club options for cheaper tickets but I didn’t want to dance through some bullshit marketing signup process so I gave up on the whole idea. Had it been $10 no bullshit I’d be there once a week. Had it been $15, I’d’ve gone to Mickey 17 a few weeks ago.
Clean ui but with largest icon being a support donation link.
Em dashes make me think something is written by AI.
The animated The Killing Joke is super dark. I wouldn’t want kids watching that.
Everyone wants to quit and start a homestead. It’s not a programmer issue, it’s a society issue.
Another week, another giant industry found to be keeping quiet about destroying the planet for their profits.
They’re reselling the IP to the next generation of kids.
I use tartube already.
Turns out ethical wages and materials cost money. I agree that older tech being more ethical as whatever ‘cost’ is may have was paid by the first owner.
