It’s for the people who usually buy the Pro but don’t actually use any of the Pro features and just like having the expensive iPhone because it’s a status symbol. It will do well. I myself would buy it were it not because I have an iPad Pro and would rather prefer a smaller phone.

Edit: I know status symbol in this context is used as a derogatory term usually but I mean it in a descriptive term. Same reason many buy a Rolex vs a Casio which is just as durable and tell the time fine. If you have the cash and don’t mind the compromises, go wild it’s a gorgeous device .

Also partisanship of any kind is disgusting. Thats the real problem in American politics, the abhorrent tribalism fed by the two party system. No progress will happen while you continue to feed this system because both sides are not willing to solve the underlying root issues. Both just want to put bandaids on problems and continue to preserve their power. If the democrats know they will always have your vote no matter what, they have no reason to fix any issues. Which is why for the past few decades they have solved jack shit. So vote democrat but just like MAGA isn’t afraid to vote out their so called RINOs you should not be afraid to put a boot in the ass of democrats that only serve corporate interests.

Is it really unoriginal? If it is patentable then it is as original as one can get in an already very developed technological market. I’m not saying I want this out there, but that doesn’t mean that what they are doing is wholly unoriginal, especially if no one has done it before.

I fundamentally disagree. Look at what they are doing now framing Israel criticism as “hate speech”. Either all speech is free speech or none is, because “hate” can be defined as anything. You could easily frame all sorts of speech as “hate” speech against some group.

Now we can have a conversation about the merits of free speech, which is an entirely different beast. But if you are comfortable with limiting speech, you need to necessarily be comfortable with the fact that the same mechanism can and will be used to limit your speech.

Bingo. Someone making 120k makes 5 times the median here. I know about 3 people of my age that own a house and 2 of them left for the US. The other one came from a well off family and was well connected. But the housing market is hot hot hot. And the supermarkets now do their promotions in English.

But what can be used against the guilty may be used against the innocent so it is best that we do not allow it at all. Either all speech is free or none of it is, there’s no other way.

I hate these fucking articles. That’s how it works with every new tech/industry etc. Everyone spends billions and billions hoping it becomes profitable 10-20 years from now, maybe it does maybe it doesn’t, we can’t know but that’s how this shit has always and will always work for basically every new tech or research that happens.

Maybe complain about countries not taxing corporations enough, but not how new industries and technologies are funded.

I mean, you might think that but you underestimate how willing people are to give up their privacy and freedom just to feel safe.

Not if they are willingly bringing this inside their homes. I think it’s very different from substances that you might not be aware are there and are highly toxic.
