Just mentioned because of your name :P
Your prudery and moralism bores the hell out of me https://randomrantdispenser.neocities.org/rant04-2024-07-18
ps: If you are replying to me on some beehaw community I won’t see it. I have no intention of interacting with that instance again. Echo Chambers are a cancer rotting away your brain.

I just remembered Eating Raoul
Mentioned some of my favorite directors - not much Fulci and Craven though. I’m not that really into horror per-se, I love Cronenberg and Carpenter’s themes and obviously their crazy practical effects and body horror, Argento always has absolutely beautiful colors and soundtrack, but I like more his murder/mystery movies than the supernatural ones. Zulawski goes crazy with surrealism, Ken Russell with the psychedelia, and Lynch has it all.
The Shining is just so beautiful, but in this more psychological, spiraling into madness, I really love Possession and Videodrome. Serial-killer horror I like Manhunter, the introduction of Hannibal Lecter to cinema (Red Dragon is a remake of this movie).
Street Trash, Class of Nuke 'em High, Return of the Living Dead are some of my favorite thrashy campy movies. Street Trash is quite disturbing though

1·7 days agoYou really think what he did and how he reacted was sane? The guy is not a psychopath or cold heartless murder, and he didn’t even try to flee the scene.
I believe the most in-control character is the main girl, she’s also the most intelligent - seems to be the one to better understand everything that is going on, and her decision at the end shows she was still capable of making choices - it was also her choice to leave, wasn’t it?
The reason she carries the gun is the same reason she jokes about buying rat poison earlier, she wanted to do it long before the dance, the dance just made her lose the little faith she still had. The guy was in such a state that he would have gone along with anything she asked, his decision-making capability was completely impaired. Isn’t the dialogue before he says the movie title something like “Why did you do that?” “She asked me”. He wasn’t capable of accessing what he just did, his last rationalization is that they were just livestock, so it didn’t matter. But back at the creator’s view, I think it’s expressed in this scene:

31·7 days agoThey are completely sleep-deprived and exhausted, and not just physically, but also mentally and morally. They can barely see themselves as human. What the creator says isn’t about women but about people in capitalism: if they can’t produce value anymore, their lives are as worthless as a horse with a broken leg.

If you want to be a goody two-shoes, buy the game, download the .exe, and “lend” it to him - never play your GOG version while he’s playing, pretend it’s a physical media you have only one copy (because that’s exactly what no-DRM means, you OWN a copy of the game, this one copy is ours to do whatever you want with it), and just keep playing your Steam version while he plays your GOG copy.
However, if you read their terms, it’s actually legal for you to keep two copies of the game - like one on the device you’re playing and another somewhere else as a backup. So you can legally lend your game and still keep a backup copy.

I just want to say I disagree about the decline, I think there was a time there was huge decline indeed, first there were too much shitty autogenerated and bait content getting high in the index, then they shoved more and more sponsored results and early filter bias were shitty, but I believe it all improved greatly in later years, specially with AI search, Google indeed manages to give you most relevant stuff on top now, and most of times it will cover all you are asking, I find the difference from other engines noticeable, the problem is that Google is fucking cancer…
I mostly use Starpage, sometimes results aren’t too good and I go to DuckDuckGo. I sometimes use Leta and Brave Search as well, but there are times I need to Google, especially for shopping.

I love the first person dungeon exploration, it’s sad they didn’t use it on the Genesis games.
