Ik woon en werk in een van de 7 Emiraten; Ras-al-Khaimah. Dus, wil je weten hoe het echt zit in Dubai enzo? Dan kan ik daar op basis van ervaring iets over zeggen.

It one of the most useful features. Specifically if you create a Smart Folder with recent screenshots. Like, of the last two days.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•How Apple joined forces with China’s brutal regime1·1 month ago@dojan I disagree. President Trump has been chosen by the American voters in free and democratic elections.
Most dictators have been chosen in free and democratic elections.
“There will not be a next election. It will be taken care for.”
Pres. Trump.“Democracy is a train and is just the means to an end and when we reach the station, we will hop out.“
Pres. Erdogan.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•How Apple joined forces with China’s brutal regime44·1 month ago@Hotznplotzn that’s extremely bad indeed! However; if the President of the United States organises a manhunt against the chief prosecutor of the ICC, where can Apple go for a non-brutal regime? Don’t forget that the current prime minister of India, democratic chosen, just like a president of United States, is involved in a scandal revolving around the massacre of more than 1000 people too.
The best options - regime wise - are also the most expensive ones.

Name one other non-specialised company that the same.
I can’t.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•Sorry, iPhone Mini Fans: Apple Isn't Planning Another Small Phone4·3 months ago@cantankerous_cashew This saddens me. It means people don’t really get that it used to be “the medium message” but now it’s “the device is the message”.
The iPhone is a thing to communicate with others one-on-one
An iPad is a thing to watch videos on if you like and to scroll through the news.
A computer is a thing to work with, if you insist like a portable one.
A TV is a thing to watch stuff together.Customers seem to long for one device that does it all.
Sad.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•Siri Is Super Dumb and Getting Dumber | John Gruber's Daring Fireball, Jan '25 -- Siri gets 15 Super Bowl winners wrong in a row; Apple's ChatGPT integration shockingly neutered2·4 months ago@parody you’re the lucky one because you use Siri in English, I guess. And then the results are deplorable. But, if you use Siri in other languages, say German (spoken by 130 million people) or Dutch (spoken by 25 million people) the results are totally useless or -even worse - completely wrong.
If it wouldn’t be Apple, the efforts would be endearing. But it’s about Apple, so it’s annoying and to the level of totally unbelievable that they messed up so badly.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•Apple Maps now uses ‘Gulf of America’ name in US, will roll out globally soon1·5 months ago@NotSteve_ @Sunshine that why I didn’t get the fuss.
Here in the Emirates; if I use Apple Maps, it still is “Gulf of Mexico”. So I thought you’re all lying! And making Tim and Trump look bad.
But now I get it.
BTW: Apple calls the Arabian Gulf the Persian Gulf.
Not nice.
;-)
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•Apple is once again advertising on X after more than a year11·5 months ago@WhatAmLemmy @Alphane_Moon it’s a searchable and well-known fact that about 10,000 times the government of the Netherlands asked Apple to handover the keys of a specific iCloud account. It’s also searchable in the database of the Dutch government in about 6600 cases per year(!) Apple does hand over these keys. In about 3000 cases Apple refuses to do so.
Paul in de Emiraten@mastodon.nlto Apple@lemmy.world•Apple CEO Tim Cook Donating $1 Million to Trump's Inaugural Fund0·6 months ago@D1G17AL @fourish That may be true and I would not spend that kind of money if it weren’t for the ecosystem.
And, since the DNA of Apple is building and selling hardware, it’s only logical that they can be a privacy advocate. At least more so than other big companies.Final point: they are the only tech company with professional customer care (where you pay for, one way or the other) that actually helps and saved my ass a couple of times in the past.
@Zorque Habit, I guess. If I create a website, I can chose from about 70 templates with Everweb, no of them having a two column lay out.
So I guess it’s difficult to get this right in HTML but I’m by no means an expert on this topic.
