Why is there so much AI bullshit in HackerNews?

Why is there so much AI bullshit in HackerNews?

Alright but why is their url from Anguilla and why did they say “in an AI-native world” at the top of that article?

Is this an AI Generated News Company?

It is granted, Acolyte.

Counterintuitively, something stops being magic the moment there is a guide for it.
For example, I am a wizard because I installed linux on an old inspiron tower with no display output during boot menu, relying entirely on instinct and mysticism to navigate the nonexistent menu with precise timing.
Normally these are meant to be ironic but I kind of vibe with this one.

Pink Power Ranger!
Red Power Ranger!
Blue Power Ranger!
Yellow Power Ranger!
Black Power Ranger!
uh…
Ivory…? Power Ranger!

Is this why they’re trying to obtain so damn much memory components? So they can ship the entire data relied upon by the statistical models to consumers?
I really didn’t think they could be more wasteful but clearly I was wrong, they want to eat up bandwidth like a fish drinks water. Or maybe they want to actually SHIP the DATABASE?
Here is what will change if your AI could remember better: nothing. The LLMs are statistical models. The next most likely token based on the sample data would rarely if ever change based on a new prompt being memorized. Normally, the models need to be retrained whenever a change is made to the data, if you could bypass that you will probably lose accuracy but even if you didn’t then you still won’t gain any tangible accuracy.

That’s an insult to strip malls, where you can often find locally owned businesses and franchises. Reddit is far more corporate and robotic.

You forgot the /s

Nowhere on earth has the new year started. I suppose in eastern asia it’s Wednesday Dec 31st, though.
I tried to skim through a few paragraphs of AI cocksucking, is it just like that all the way through or does it become sarcastic/ironic at some point?

I disagree, frankly.

I think you’re forgetting
THE SEWERS.

Take anything OP tells you with a bag of salt, they protested Biden and celebrated Trump. They only care about the genocide in Gaza so long as it can be used as a tool to shame the west.

First of all, yeah, that’s why Mastodon is a superior framework.
Secondly, I can imagine user Geneva_Convenience actually earning that ban.

Thank you for adding that disclaimer at the bottom, I wish the edgier memes like drunk driving and suicide all had such disclaimers.
Honey, we all know they’re hitting the ceiling they predicted in their OpenAI paper on AI Scaling Laws in 2020 and corrected by Deepmind’s 2022 followup paper. It’s trash now and it will always be trash, attempting to give it that infinite power and compute time to reach 94% is just an exercise in futility.
That’s a fun thought but StackOverflow are early adopters for AI so they’re probably not much different at all.
What an incredible waste.
