Do we really want to play cat and mouse with Google? I don’t.
ExtremeDullard@piefed.socialto DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•1 week using a Linux Phone | Jolla C2 Community Phone with Sailfish OSEnglish171·12 days agoIt’s totally butthurt.
People around the world are genuinely pissed that the richest country on Earth is threatening their right to not have to go through another world war because 77 million dumbasses reckoned electing a fascist felon pedo in the White House was a-okay.
My company has stopped selling to American customers, so that they wouldn’t pay tariffs and fund the fascist state each time they ordered from us, and I can tell you the business we picked up in Europe just for deciding to do that is well worth the loss of income from American customers.
ExtremeDullard@piefed.socialto DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•1 week using a Linux Phone | Jolla C2 Community Phone with Sailfish OSEnglish351·12 days agodid the reviewer really have to rub the “European” aspect of it throughout?
It’s become a very important feature for a lot of people who can’t stand fascism, and a selling point for non-US companies.
If you want this to change, kick the orange utan out of the White House, and maybe in 10 to 15 years, the rest of the world will get over the butthurt.
ExtremeDullard@piefed.socialtoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•Stealing from GoogleEnglish3·14 days agoThe author is caching images to offer their users the privilege of not having to hit a Google server - and have to trust a Google server.
The stealing isn’t what you think - or even what the author thinks: they didn’t steal the images from Google. The images never belonged to Google to begin with, and Google was serving them up for free.
What the author did was deny Google an opportunity to track the users hitting Google servers. In other words, the author stole a bit of datamining revenue from Google.
Good on them!

I can see why Anita Bejmuk wants the FBI to dive back into her husband’s case: the FBI is literally dying to find any distraction from the only files anybody is interested in, which are
THE EPSTEIN FILES

But I don’t want to review slop barfed out by a statistical completion machine anymore than I want to review code spewed out by a junior engineer who hasn’t got a clue what the code he copy/pasted does.
I didn’t spend 4 decades busting my balls in this industry to be good at what I do for that. Fuck that.
ExtremeDullard@piefed.socialtoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•Ted Cruz: MAGA "will regret" what it did to Jimmy KimmelEnglish20·27 days agoDon’t make the mistake of thinking there’s a semblance of human decency left in those MAGA turds.
They’re doing it to distance themselves from Trump if the Epstein scandal finally gets him, of if people are tired enough of him, his tariffs and his ICE Gestapo to topple the regime. They don’t want to be flushed out with the rest of the MAGA turds.
Marjorie Taylor Greene does the exact same thing for the exact same reason: she doesn’t give two shits about the Epstein victims. She’s just buying herself some good will from the Trump haters.
The only Trump dissenter I reckon might have genuine good intentions and might not be scheming to position himself in a post-Trump future is Mike Massie. But he might simply be smarter and clever enough to not look as damn obvious as the other turds. So I wouldn’t bet on it.

Lincicome lists a number of problems with this transaction, including (but not limited to!):
- Intel making decisions for political rather than commercial considerations
- Intel’s board prioritizing government interests over their fiduciary duties
- Other companies being pressured to purchase Intel products, weakening their long-term position.
- Disadvantaging the competitive position of other companies
- Incentivizing the misallocation of private capital
Here’s my biggest problem with the US stake in Intel, that’s not in the list: whenever Intel turns a profit, 10% of it directly finances the fascist Trump regime.
People who want to fight fascism in the US absolutely need to boycott Intel from now on. That mean no Intel processors, but also no daughterboards or laptops with integrated Intel chipsets, or anything Intel-branded.
Something tells me someone will be embracing the unemployed lifestyle sooner or later…
