Wow nice. Thanks!
This pairs perfectly with the Real Time Fascism tracker.

Oh…
Reading the title, I thought it would be about some hare-brained multi-billion dollar scheme to bring up the ISS to a higher orbit to save it, not about photographing it.
But it’s cool too. At least, that’s doable 🙂
That sloppy AI gobbledygook barely qualifies as computer-related content, let alone “hacker news”.
You’ll be glad to hear that this famous Nazi’s company is not.
The Cybertruck’s design and styling is a reflexion of the person who willed it into existence: it’s tone-deaf and disconnected with the reality of what people want. That’s what you get from someone who has zero empathy and thinks he understands other people but actually doesn’t.
Ultra-rich psychopaths only do philanthropy for two reasons:
1/ Tax evasion
2/ Currying favors from left-leaning governments and improving their image
The Trump regime eliminated the need for 2/. The Billionnaires now feel free and empowered to be themselves openly and without shame.
Using Copilot even as a mere coding assistance is insane, if no other reason than you’re sending all your code to Microsoft, and you also let them monitor your work habits in uncomfortably intimate details.
That’s what happens when you run an OS that forces updates on you. Remember when you could disable them?
The solution is called Linux. Fuck Microsoft.
He should join one of the tankie Lemmy instances for a real choice treatment. That would be fun for to watch for 5 minutes
Bullshit. A complex API that is architectured logically can be understood easily by human professionals but easily confuses an AI. I know because ours does exactly that, yet all our customers think it’s a neat API.
A great step towards unemployment!
Good to know!
Wacom now joins my long list of abusive tech companies I will never patronize again.
Some of the things you cite aren’t that clear-cut: water doesn’t wet Rain-X and bears sometimes shit in cities.
Did you read the article?
The church warned priests that they’d be punished if they denouce pedophiles to the police.
Who threatens anybody for denouncing pedos to the police? Other pedos, and pedo-friendly organizations, that’s who. And the Vatican is known for having been a safe haven for pedos for decades, if not centuries.
So yeah, the Catholic church would love to make you think they’re not pedo enablers no more. But you can’t make a racehorse with a donkey. They just can’t help themselves.
Well well, what a surprise… Just when you thought the Catholic church might be turning into a halfway decent organization with some principles, they go right back to their old ways.
Silver lining: he didn’t have a skiing accident, so he didn’t end up costing the Norwegian taxpayer money to rescue him.
A very good and sadly very topical movie.
From the article:
This means the same file that belongs to multiple applications or runtimes is only stored once on disk
So… just like how it was before Flatpaks.
For some historical perspective, shared libraries - the things Flatpaks “solve” - were originally a solution to the size of self-contained a.out programs getting out of hand.
Everything old is new again 🙂
ear-based sensing applications
also known as “listening”.
uBlock Origin in expert mode, Librewolf’s Resist Fingerprinting and Libredirect ensure that Google knows as little about me as possible - be it on DDG or anywhere else.
Fuck Google - if this clarification was needed.
Oh and yeah, fuck Google. Because it bears repeating.
