Hello everyone,

I’ve only been using Mint for a short time, and ever since I enabled the Menu button applet on the taskbars of my 4 screens… its behavior has been pretty chaotic. Coming from Windows, I like to keep the environment as close as possible to what I’ve been used to for years. I discovered that thanks to the Applets tool (by right‑clicking on the system taskbar), you get access to a ton of customizable options for each taskbar.

What I wanted was to have the Menu button at the bottom left of each screen, so that no matter which screen I’m working on, I could quickly access it with a single click, instead of having to go back to the main screen.

However, now that I’ve set up this functionality, when I press the Windows key (which opens the Menu dropdown), it pops up randomly on any of the 4 screens. It changes every day, but it never shows up on the main screen. How can I fix this?

I’ll leave my system specs in a spoiler below:

What happens if you press the menu button multiple times?

Does the menu location have any correlation to the monitor that the cursor is on?

Hello, Sorry for the delay in responding. When pressing the Menu button several times, it keeps unfolding on the same screen. Even if I move the cursor across the other screens and press the button again, the menu still unfolds on the same screen.

I have tried restarting the computer, switching users, and logging out without any success. The only thing I manage doing this is that the menu unfolds on another screen at random.
